I finally made it to the St Paul Farmers Market this past weekend. Mill City is literally two blocks away, so I never cross the river to check out the "other" organic market. The [daytime] stars were aligned, though, because a farmer had the fruit that Ben and I had been dreaming about since last year: tart cherries.
The cherries look and taste exactly like what I imagine a cherry to look and taste like. The farmer expects only one more week of fruit so if you would like to taste them this year, head to St Paul on Saturday.
We also bought gooseberries from an old lady that was either very sweet or wanted to poison us (the jury is still out). Although not as good as the cherries, they are definitely unique and taste like sour grapes and applesauce...
